To represent action and interaction a symbolic framework has been developed based on Roger SchankÕs conceptualizations, augmented by a mechanism to represent the temporal structure of the sub-actions based on AllenÕs interval algebra networks. These concepts have been tested in the context of four projects involving story-driven interactive spaces. The action representation framework has been used in the Intelligent Studio project to enhance the control of automatic cameras in a TV studio. Interval scripts have been extensively employed in the development of ÒSingSongÓ; in ÒIt\/IÓ, a full-length computer theater play; and in ÒItÓ, an interactive art installation based on the play ÒIt\/IÓ that realizes our concept of immersive stages.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Claudio Pinhanez","offers":[{"title":"Paperback","offer_id":44348109127841,"sku":"9781111140841","price":29.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0462\/1120\/3233\/files\/1d8y8d8-front-shortedge-384_cbd08ccf-2bea-4f6e-961a-936150bee3f6.jpg?v=1748488743","url":"https:\/\/bookswholesale.myshopify.com\/products\/claudio-pinhanez-phd-thesis-mit-1999","provider":"BooksWholesale","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
