Climate change is causing temperatures to become warmer, the sea level to rise, and storms are becoming stronger and more frequent. Subsequently, it is important to ensure that society is able to mitigate and adapt for hazards to become more resilient. The problem is that society has not made resiliency a top priority due to a lack of foresight. Current methods of mitigation and adaptation are inadequate and need to be modernized to create a level of resilience that can prevent the loss of life and property in the years to come.
