The two pillars of modern system analysis are the Fourier and Laplace Transforms. These transforms involve integration of complex plane, as such the need for the scientist and engineer to be acquainted with the fundamental principals of complex analysis is obvious for pragmatic reasons. However, in spite of its utility, Complex Analysis is also a beautiful and elegant system of mathematical analysis in of itself and merits study for this reason alone.
Toward that end, this book provides an introduction to Complex Analysis using the the symbolic programming langauage Mathematica. Understanding Complex Analysis using Mathematica provides a powerful tool for carrying out the various analysis. In addition to standard Mathematica functions, the book utilizes many customized functions specifically designed for working with Complex Variables. These customized functions are used throught the book. Tthe functions are provided in the appendix, so the reader can impliment them as well.
