Proceedings from the Conserving Outdoor Painted Sculpture symposium, held in June 2013 at the Kršller-MŸller Museum (KMM) in Otterlo, the Netherlands. The symposium was the interim meeting of the Modern Materials and Contemporary Art working group of ICOM-CC, in collaboration with the KMM, the Getty Conservation Institute, and INCCA (the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art). The volume includes papers on some of the main issues facing conservators of outdoor painted sculpture -- ethical/philosophical, technical/material, legal, management, and information exchange -- and possible responses to those; and technical issues, such as how paints or coatings can be developed or tailored to conservatorsÕ or artistsÕ needs.
