The writing is intermediate for guitar, and percussion, as advanced intermediate level for the pianist. The music has a tonal center, but moves around quite a bit, and gets intense and atonal in the climax.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAt the climactic point, the pianist will have to play controlled clusters, and there is a small slightly improvised point (not much). The percussion only uses a few instruments: large bass drum, large gong, and vibes. In the first section the percussionist will need to use the superball-flumi mallets to rub the gong slowly to create an otherworldly sound.
