This book is a compilation of short stories and children's poems that can be used as a learning material for the school reading program. Short stories play a vigorous role in the growth and development of children. The books they read and the characters they get to know can become like friends. ItÕs also good for children to understand that books are a valuable source of information and that good reading skills are important for success in their future lives. Reading also helps children with their confidence levels, coping with feelings and language and learning.
During these times of the pandemic, a lot of challenges are being faced. The 'New Normal' in education or the Department of Education's Learning Continuity Plan had posed great challenges in the education sector. Since there are no face-to-face classes, some pupils most especially the struggling ones are not given much attention. This reality had moved me to come up with this storybook.
The activities in the storybook have been constructed carefully and creatively for the children so that they can easily understand it and at the same time make their learning experience enjoyable.
