This book expresses my passion for dance and exploits the hardships of the dance world as well as explains the perks of being a part of the dance industry. When writing this book and gathering my research, I wanted to keep in mind that many professions and lifestyles require audition techniques. An audition contains lessons of perseverance, struggle, acceptance and self- assurance. This book is a reminder to anyone, especially dancers, who feel like they are not seen for their whole self and true being, that they are more than what meets the eye. Therefore, my book explains more about the quality of a person, by using excerpts and anecdotes of my personal experiences within my field. What I wish I knew sections of my book give readers insight on my personal upheavals and successes in my life thus far. I genuinely hope that this book can help everyone understand the value of a personÕs worth and how to overcome the stigma of being known as just a number. Dancers arenÕt just numbers; we are so much more.
