Rosa L. Jones was raised the oldest of seven children in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, she grew up during a period when black women had few career choices. Rosa chose to become a mathematics teacher and touched the hearts and minds of countless students through a tough-love approach to education.
At home, she was mother to four loving children. However, over the course of her 36-year teaching career, she became the mother to thousands seeking encouragement and education in New Orleans.
This book reveals how Rosa Jones pressed beyond her comfort zone, becoming a student herself and learning to use words to share her inner thoughts. Within the pages of this book, you will get to explore her student journal and read writings from the mind of a mathematician.
