The author, a World War II veteran, met his wife when she was 13; they were high school sweethearts and were married after he enlisted and she had begun her career as a high school teacher. He was determined to not let the war keep them apart. This book includes over 160 of those cherished letters along with photographs taken by the author, as well as others, representing experiences depicted within the letters and stories.
