Motivated by the expressive power of speech as a natural means of intuitive interaction, the overarching goal of the current book is to address specific issues related to the deployment and evaluation of mobile applications that use speech, combined with different modalities. Our study is organized around three different pillars each of which exemplifies one of the following principles: design, interaction and evaluation.
