The Oxbow Youth Writing Project is dedicated to empowering youth to find their voices through creative expression and seeing themselves as writers. It is a collaborative project between the Oxbow Writing Project (the University of Nebraska at Omaha chapter of the National Writing Project), and The Hope Center for Kids, both of Omaha, Nebraska. During the two-week workshop, participants who were between the ages of five and nine were exposed to many forms and styles of writing. They were then given complete freedom as writers. Participants selected their own work to submit to this anthology and assisted with the editing of their writing. (To preserve the authenticity of each writerÕs voice, only spelling corrections were made by the editor.)
