It is good to be a Dragon. In Dragon Storm you play a shape shifter, you were born mortal, then, around your 16th birthday, you changed shape for the first time. Now you are a Dragon, Werewolf, Werecat, or some other magical being who can change from humanoid to super natural form at will.
It is a good trick, especially since you live in the Stormlands, a realm torn by maelstroms of warped magic. In a chaotic, dangerous land, shape shifter powers can keep you alive.
Still, it can be bad to be a Dragon. Very bad. Necromancers, Mad Spawn and Jikadell Priests hate shape shifters and hunt them remorselessly. If captured, a shape shifter will be drained of natural magic. Dying to fuel the foul spells of Necromancers is bad. These same death Mages create the hideous storms as a side effect of their twisted magic. All the while they claim that Dragons and other shape shifters cause the maelstroms. Why do you think they call them Dragon Storms?
