This book is a collection of illustrations created by Donald Bennett Sayner and his mother, Gladys Bennett Menhennet. The examples and depictions of traditional scientific illustration techniques included were used in Sayner's Scientific Illustration courses at the University of Arizona in the 1970s and 1980s. For those who were privileged to be in his classes and learn the skills of being a scientific illustrator from him, these illustrations are quite likely imprinted deeply in their visual memories. This book is in honor of Sayner, his passion for teaching his tried-and-true techniques, his quirky sayings and the legacy he left.
