This book is a great opportunity to learn more about Brazilian literature and its connections with American contemporary culture. In his work, Juan Stacul, former Visiting Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and researcher of the Capes Foundation (Brazil), proposes a comparative analysis between the novel Whatever Happened to Dulce Veiga?, written by the Brazilian writer Caio Fernando Abreu, and the screenplay of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.
