This book is a compilation of Egyptian folk songs and games by Bahiga Mahmoud Sidki. All collected from the streets of Cairo, Egypt and villages of Egypt around 1940, all put to music and translated by her in the 1950 and 1960s. She is the grandmother of the publisher of this one volume, Hassan Rasheed. This 415 page volume is in her memory and her accomplishments in preserving EgyptÕs folk music heritage.
