The harvesting of energy is high priority for the benefit of humankind. Coal surpassed wood as the dominant source for energy in the U.S. about 1888. In turn, petroleum passed up coal in about 1950. National attention is increasingly being focused beyond these non-renewable sources to include a diverse set of renewable energy sources. The ultimate primary source for all of these energy sources, whether non-renewable or renewable, is the Sun. Conversion to the electrical form of energy is the theme of this Monograph. Twelve chapters of electrical energy engineering are included: (1) energy overview, (2) electrical energy theory, (3) solar energy, (4) chemical energy, (5) electromechanical energy, (6) energy transmission, (7) hydrocarbon energy, (8) hydroelectric energy, (9) nuclear energy, (10) wind energy, (11) geothermal energy, and (12) oceanic energy.
