A. H. Heisey & Co. (1896-1957) was an innovator and leader in the glassmaking industry. In addition to introducing hundreds of new designs in glassware and numerous improvements to the glass production process, Heisey also pioneered new ways to market glassware as one of the first glass manufacturers to advertise directly to the public. This initial volume of a 3-part set covers Heisey newspaper advertising. This advertising is distinct from Heisey advertising to the public and the trade in that the bulk of the advertisements were not placed by A. H. Heisey & Co., but by the businesses that sold Heisey glassware, such as department stores, jewelers and hardware stores. The material reproduced in this volume is intended to provide a representative collection of the advertisements that were placed for Heisey glassware by the businesses that directly sold the product to the public.
