The ongoing debate in academia is about the relative merits of quantitative vs. qualitative data analysis. While the quantitative data analysis can infuse rigor in oneÕs research, the qualitative data analysis can extend the scope of the scientific undertakings. The quantitative data analysis has its roots in statistics and epistemology, the qualitative data analysis in the classic phenomenology. Both these disciplines are discussed here in turn.
