Foundations for a Thoughtful Judaism is a curricular project of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America that offers a sophisticated yet accessible introduction to philosophical ideas in Jewish peoplehood, practice, faith, and ethics. Its content is based on Hartman teaching from the last four decades. This Teacher's Guide is designed to help clergy and educators teach a nuanced and engaging introduction to key concepts of Jewish ethics. It includes introductions to each text, class, and unit in the Participant Sources booklet; suggested discussion questions; and class content summaries.
