It is Gibson who said: "the future is here, it is only unevenly distributed." But, by extension, this would imply the pasts is here also. It is equally and spottily distributed. we have the future, which we think of the greater and better gadgets that will depend on a growing and more abstract 'use and exchange value' and the way we deal with our problems big and little. But then there are the greater problems created by the gadgets....food and shelter. There are no problems except living and dying within those means. In the foreground there are problems created by the technology. Is this really use? 'the past' might be the uneven distribution of the simplicity before gadgets. __And then there is a strange feature of the past. A new strange feature because of social media: people, conscious entities, keep showing up from your past. Moore's Law: reducing memory and speed of the computer and silicon chips, the equivalent, of a 1970 car, in 2019 traveling 500,000,000 mph.
