The idea that my friend Greg Asimakoupoulos advances so artfully in "Faces in the Forest" suggests some of the ways that trees enrich our lives, even though their means of communication may remain mystical and inscrutable. But one message should come across without confusion or doubt: that in response to regular attention by human beings to clear our trash from the vicinity of these silent sentries, their Òfaces in the forestÓ smile back at us.
