Fifteen years later in the aftermath of a family wrought in grief by the death of the youngest daughter, Kaytrando/a, now the only child, struggles still to maintain control over their relationships that have since slowly crumbled. ÊAfter their fatherÕs death, they run away from home and off into the woods, alone and unprepared, out of the controlling clutch of their lamenting mother. ÊÊOnce gone, the world sweeps them up and carries them off into a spiral of trials of new feelings, new hopes, the coming of winter, the return of hopelessness, and pain.
