Michele Heather Pollock's Field Guide to the Art of Looking is a celebration of nature and a journey of discovery.
Michele walks almost daily through the woods on her property in beautiful Brown County, Indiana, where she meets and falls in love with the trees and native plants, the frogs and mushrooms and spiders. She learns a new way of seeing the world. She watches the woods over a single year, through "the cycle of spring blooming, summer ripening, autumn turning & winter pulling back."
By pairing new poems with her own photography, Pollock invites us to join her on a walk in the woods, where we can "follow the dog following the creek," and explore "Forest walks as a way of questioning nature,/
as a way of being in the world."
