The war scythe could be called an iconic weapon of the polish people. In 1908 the Bartoszowe Troops were registered, a paramilitary orginasation that was also intended to awaken the national spirit of the youth. They also trained with the scythe which was iconic since the battle of Raclawice in 1794.
