This text is aimed at undergraduate and post-graduate students of business and finance and those on professional courses in accountancy. It is designed to be read alongside, not instead of, longer and more theoretical texts.
I have covered the basics of financial management from calculating the cost of equity and debt to investment appraisal and futures contracts. The reader will note that I have left uncovered issues relating to governance and financial conduct and codes. This is intentional and in the spirit of a text that seeks to cover quickly and clearly the aspects of financial management that in my experience students find difficult.
