A collection of color photographs of rural and urban places in China composed as images to suggest landscapes when in fact the subject photographed are close-in details. One series of images were taken of concrete pavement outside a museum in Xian just after a morning rain. The resulting images suggest a grand mountain landscape when if fact are nothing more than cracked pavement with patches of moss and wet soil. A close-in shot of the surface of one of the brass urns that sit outside of buildings in the Forbidden City suggest a bamboo forest.
