The First Nations Watershed Planning Guidebooks are plain language guides that introduce the watershed planning process, with a focus on community engagement and use of Indigenous Knowledge. The guidebooks present examples of First NationsÕ perspectives on water, including examples from our First Nation partnersÕ own experiences. They are broad enough to apply to watershed planning in any region of Canada and may be used at any stage in the watershed planning process. These guidebooks present and explore key tasks you need to consider for your planning process.
The third volume, Knowing Your Watershed: All Our Relations, assists with determining the current state of the watershed Ð including all our relations (people, plants, animals) living in and connected with the watershed. It will help you to bring together information on the environment, economy, social elements, cultural elements and relationships to understand the history and the current health
of the area.
