The paintings in this book were created as part of a collection of work for a project called PARLIAMENT, for which there is also a "grown-up" book that features all the paintings here (and a few more).
PARLIAMENT explores the idea that birds come from an ethereal realm beyond our world and carry our souls between the earthly plane and beyond. The title comes from the collective noun for owls, and it was that which prompted the development of a story for children, built from the collective nouns for other birds I had painted
It wasn't quite supposed to take the dark turn it did, but the nouns kind of guided the story and, well, murder is murder.
