For 40 Days is a collection of courtship letters describing a young American man's five-year journey in Muslim Turkey. Life as an English teacher during the events of September 11 and the war with Iraq led to a series of unique observations regarding the local culture with its foreign religion. Living with various Turkish families and not on a military base or as part of a Christian missionary church plant, he offers us both fun stories and sobering reflections on both Eastern and Western societies enabling his readers to see through his multicultural eyes to better understand our global world alongside Islam.
