FROM HERE is a collection of essays and photography that focus on my personal relationships with different films, including The Beatles A Hard Day's Night (1964), Richard Ayode's Submarine (2011), Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused (1993), Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides (1999), and Micheal Apted's documentary series Seven Up (1964-). These essays juxtapose events in my life with analysis of the events and themes demonstrated in the films with the intention of drawing parallels between art and life and how they are, ultimately, inseparable. Dealing with themes such as female insecurity, depression, and navigating adolescence, this project is an ode to the person I was, and an investigation into what kind of person I may become.
