My Father passed away at the fine old age of 93, in later life he began to talk more and more about the days of his youth and time in the army. After watching several different programs on television such (A War Hero in Our Family) I decided to piece all of my fatherÕs stories together. It was when they mentioned some brave old soldiers, who had come through such battles as Dunkirk, Al Alamein, the Invasion of Sicily, Monte Casino and many others that I realized that my dad had fought in all these theatres of war. It led to me to some fascinating research on just why Les had been sent to these areas and others that had seemed a bit obscure in their location at the time of telling.
