McKownville United Methodist Church went from Rural to Suburban during over 155 years as a church in Albany County in New York State. The land for what eventually became McKownville United Methodist Church was turned over in 1865 by John McKown to the trustees of the Second M.E. Mission church of the town of Guilderland. The first "house of public worship" here was constructed in 1866 by the Guilderland Methodist Episcopal Church. This church in McKownville has served God since, changing over the years.
This well-illustrated memory book tells the story of what happened, who the people were, and their activities and missions. It also includes detailed information with pictures on other aspects, such as: the pastors who served; the stained glass windows in the 1898, 1927, and 1960 buildings (and their renovations); and other Methodism in the area.
