Between 1990 and 2009, American families adopted over 300,000 children from overseas. Like every process that involves multiple layers of bureaucracy, this phenomenon gave birth to corruption, numerous struggles for adopting families and more importantly, countless success stories.
D.A Turlington was one of those 300,000 families that took the international adoption journey with his wife Laura, first from Russia in 2005, and then in Guatemala in 2008.
