After wars and environmental disasters, the future isn't looking so bright. A genetic mutation has caused some people to develop white streaks in their hair. The earlier it appears, the stronger the powers that come with it will be. While the streak always appears before eighteen, it is rare for it to develop before age six. Ambrosia was born with the telltale white patch in her otherwise dark hair. Her parents have managed to hide her streak so that the military doesn't take her away for training, but with her mother ill, it is getting harder and harder for Ambrosia to remain hidden. If she turns herself in, she can save her mother. But can she save herself?
