They came from Bohemia and partitioned Poland from 1869 to 1899. They traveled by land and sea, on ships powered by wind and steam. They left their relatives and friends forever to escape poverty, war, repression. But they had at least one thing in common Ð they all settled in Nebraska in search of a new beginning on land of their own.
