Genesis started out with God creating Òthe heavens and the earth.Ó When he was done, he Òsaw that it was very good.Ó God loved his Creation.
But man, the key player in the picture, refused to cooperate and turned away from God. He was supposed to rule the earth under the Father. Instead what ensued was ruin and disaster. So God pronounced doom upon man and crippled him in four key areas. Their Family relationship came to an end.
God, however went back to that original idea. He has in mind to create Òa new heavens and a new earthÓ, something on a higher level than the first Creation, something that cannot be ruined. To prevent another disaster, God is creating a Ònew ManÓ in his own Son to live in that new Creation. Genesis is showing us the process of making that Ònew ManÓ. The New Creation will be perfect, never to fail Ð because God's own Son will rule over it.
