Gissur Eliasson was blessed in so many ways. The unwavering love, strength and support of his wife, Elvera, was the most precious and deeply appreciated facet of his life. He was a loving and devoted father to his three sons and his daughter. One of the greatest pleasures in his life was to spend time with his children and their families. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will always be remembered by his family and many friends with love. Gissur Eliasson passed away on June 8th, 1980 after a courageous battle with leukemia. As one friend remarked, Òon June 8th, we lost one of the best."
