I got polio in 1941 at age eight before the Sabine and Salk miracles. Today I use an electric scooter and deal with a variety of post polio symptoms (PPS). This book is mainly about post polio because it has been my life's companion.
Disability can have both humorous and light-hearted perspective as well as include serious research data. There is a balance between the serious downside of limitations and the exciting upside of pursuing a full life. I have experienced both sides.
