Dear Friends:
I grew up in a joyfully religious Jewish home. When I was small as a child living in Bridgeport and Brooklyn I spent as much time as they would allow, asking questions of my Grandmas about how Jewish customs came to be and what their families, childhoods and holidays were like. Happily for me, these two ladies told wonderful ÒGrandma StoriesÓ as did my mother, when my son was small. And now it is my turn to pass on those colorful memories
and history adding my own for my future grandchildren.
Since I am an artist, I decided to create visual stories. The enclosed slides represent a sample of these visual ÒBubba Meinses.Ó The Paintings were developed from a combination of old photographs, treasured family objects and the remembrances that came to mind when gently touching these mementos.
