Grandville Street, Detroit, 1958 looks at features of inherited grief and how grief is as old as the first breath of the first resident of Detroit. Carrying the culmination of much inherited grief is Rosemary, a girl who acquired her own reason to mourn when she lost her family at age 8. Rosemary is not expected or even encouraged to grieve by the adults around her, but grief will eventually out, and RosemaryÕs method of grieving is to fill her Detroit home. After six 30 yard dumpsters are filled with the content of her house, Rosemary is allowed to return, but to her, her home has been ruined.
