This book tells the story of the Aiten Ryu, the Love of Heaven School, that was a significant ministry of Blessed Sacrament Episcopal Church in Placentia, California. The Aiten Ryu was a karate school with a specialty in Tang Soo Do. The story is told from the founding of the school in 1997 to the retirement of the author in 2012. The school continued for some years after this date. Two or three hundred students were members of the school in its history, and 54 of them earned the rank of first degree black belt; several went on to higher ranks. The stories of a typical class session, the annual karate camp, the red belt retreat, the naming ceremonies, and more are included.
