I hope to compare and share very personal accounts of two individuals who started out in life with more going against them than for them. Twenty years separate them in age.
Both entered the ChildrenÕs Home at Foster Falls, Virginia around eleven years of age and remained until graduation from high school. I want to share the experiences of these two women as told to me in interviews. I want to show through the interviews how they went from aloneness to the safety of an extended family growing up in a beautiful place in the mountains and alongside a historic river in rural southwestern Virginia.
