This study focuses on the attribution of asymmetrically knotted Yomut pieces as well as tribal items attributed to the Ersari. Both areas are dogged by confusion and controversy. My purpose is to try to clarify some of the problems, help establish a comprehensive data base and organize the relevant items in a systematic way. I attempted to list the known Yomut pieces with the asymmetric knot open left (YASL) with the exception of the eagle gul carpets, torbas with the aksu motif and trappings with the diamond gul. Yomut items with the asymmetric knot open right (YASR) are more numerous and it was not feasible to list or to even refer to most of them. The selected pieces were some of the ones that have connections either to the YASL or eagle gul group pieces.
