In 2015, Dr. Ken Cushner, Kent State University Emeritus Professor of International Education, began working with two 6th grade English Language Arts teachers from Hudson Middle School in Ohio, Beth Killeen and Carla Sweitzer. The team began working together to establish a long term collaboration that would be mutually beneficial between the Orkeeswa Secondary School in Tanzania and Hudson Middle School in Ohio with a focus on enhancing the global and international mindedness of the students. In the Fall, students from both schools worked together to write international partnership stories. We now have twenty three International Partnership Stories completed by children in two countries translated into Swahili and English have traveled over 40,000 miles in this publication.
