Originally recorded on cassette tapes, Harold DeRhodes' Life Story: A Transcript is Harold DeRhodes' story told in his words. He recorded a total of four hours and fifteen minutes of audio in 2002 and distributed the recordings on CD's for Christmas that year.
With exemplary detail, Harold recounts several events in his life, including but not limited to his household chores as a child, the tragic losses of both his parents, meeting his wife Helen, working various jobs to support a family, and raising his three children - Raoul, Alan and Sherri - along with his youngest brother, Ron, following their parents' deaths. Of course, his birth in 1916 gave him a wealth of stories spanning several decades.
About a year after recording his life story, Harold passed away at the age of 87 on October 26, 2003. However, thanks to his tapes, Harold's stories and memory lives on.
