HereThere is a combinatory phrase that succinctly addresses the complex relationship between our lived experience and the world we inhabit. I wanted to find artists who approach some aspect of this complexity in their work. The poetics of place embraces this. Whether such issues as migration, habitation and dwelling, ecological disaster, entropy, covering our bodies, or making structures in urban/suburban/rural landscapes, these artists grapple with aspects of placedness.
