The Oak Ridge, TN schools began with the Manhattan Project in 1943. Almost immediately the schools were among the very best in the nation and have retained that distinction over the years. This series of stories illustrate the historic spirit of excellency in education that continues to exist in Oak Ridge Schools. Recently, Oak Ridge High School has undergone a substantial renovation. These stories were first published in The Oak Ridger newspaper.
