Kou Chang, a Hmong refugee, tells his story from the time he was born in war-torn Laos, to escaping across the Mekong River, living for twelve years in refugee camps in Thailand and finally moving throughout the United States trying to find stable employment. His compelling story is supported by notes which create historic context for his first person story and photographs taken from 1991 - 2022 in Laos, Thailand and the United States.
