A book of marks on paper.
I wrote in the introduction: A page written over and over into illegibility Ð or writing on both sides of onionskin paper Ð or tangles of bare sticks and twigs against snow Ð or wax paper crumpled and smoothed outÉ Not drawing, not writing, but marks Ð lines, strokes, dashes, scores, scratches, ticks, points, notesÉ. Marks made against the desire to make something add up. Not concealing any message, not slipping you any postcards: idiot marks. Idiot in the sense of being located outside of our common languages...
