FR.STAN's autobiography is in the first place a reminder of sufferings endured through World War II in particular by many senior Polish citizens still in our parishes today. It is worth reading on that account alone. It is also a record of past priestly training easily forgotten, but humorously endured by Father Stan. This also gives pause for thought. It is then a story of a priestly life lived in our own time, with the challenges of Vatican Council II, a response to challenges which we still face today. It is above all a reminder of a priest and a friend to so many, living his life and last days with gentle humour and exemplary faith. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
